Approach to Reducing Environmental Impact
See the Sustainability Report 2023 for details.
Developing environmentally friendly products and services
The Muratec Group will persistently develop and offer products with good environmental performance, aiming to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society through our product offerings.
In the OHT (Overhead hoist transport) system, a major product of the Clean FA Division, heat loss from the power supply line of the non-contact power supply system accounts for a large portion of the power consumption. We have developed a system that saves energy and can be added to the customer's existing equipment. It can provide the same or more power than the current system, so the transport capacity can be maintained. |
Reducing chemical substances in solvent coatings
The Inuyama Plant’s Machining Department, which mainly processes parts for the Machine Tool Division, has been reducing the use of chemical substances (volatile organic compounds: VOCs) by decreasing the use of solvent coating and increasing the ratio of powder coating in the painting process. In addition, we are switching to environmentally friendly paints that do not contain VOCs for the solvent coating process. |
Reducing the environmental impact of packaging materials
At the Ise Factory, we are working to replace the wooden crates used to ship our products with cardboard boxes. In the past, almost all products shipped overseas used to be packed in wooden crates. Now we are adopting cardboard packaging. This curbs the deforestation caused by the sourcing of material needed to make wooden crates, reduces CO2 emissions from truck transportation by cutting the packaging weight, and boosts the recycling rate of packaging materials.
